DAV Centenary Public School (DAVCPS) had the honour of welcoming Wing Commander Kunal Sharma, a distinguished officer of the Indian Air Force (IAF), for an engaging and motivational speech aimed at inspiring the students.
With an illustrious career in the IAF, Wg Cdr Kunal Sharma shared his personal experiences from his journey, starting from his education at Sainik School Sujanpur Tihra to his commission in the Indian Air Force in 2008. He enlightened the students with tales of perseverance, discipline, and hard work, emphasizing the importance of determination in achieving success.
Wg Cdr Sharma, who holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from NIT Hamirpur, spoke of his extensive flying experience on various aircraft and his exceptional record in adventure sports and mountaineering. His stories of completing ultra-marathons in challenging terrains, such as the Khardungla Challenge in Leh, and his participation in high-altitude mountaineering expeditions left the audience in awe.
The officer also highlighted his achievements in sports, including representing the IAF in national-level handball and cycling events. His accolades include the prestigious Chief of Air Staff Commendation and the Tri-Services Mac Gregor Memorial Medal for representing the IAF in extreme sports and adventure activities.
In his speech, Wg Cdr Sharma encouraged the students to explore their interests in a diverse range of activities beyond academics. He stressed the importance of cultivating hobbies like yoga, travelling, music, and photography, sharing his love for playing musical instruments such as the flute and guitar.
The school's principal, deeply impressed by Wg Cdr Sharma's achievements, applauded his presence and expressed gratitude for his motivational talk. "We are privileged to have such an accomplished officer speak to our students. The students and staff of DAVCPS were deeply moved by Wg Cdr Sharma’s motivational words and thanked him for sharing his experiences, which will surely inspire many young minds to pursue their dreams with dedication and resilience.
